Lidy Nicolasen

Lidy Nicolasen is a Dutch journalist and writer. She has worked for the Dutch Newspaper De Volkskrant as a political and foreign reporter, head of the political desk in The Hague, and of the opinion desk in Amsterdam.

She is the winner of the Anne Vondelingprijs 2002 for political reporting.

She wrote the diary Van onze verslaggeefster in the year of the murder of the Dutch right-wing politician Pim Fortuyn. She wrote a novel about the poet Sonja Prins and a historical novel over the Eighty Years’ War. Her most recent book is about, among other things, the colonial past of Holland in Indonesia.
