María Isabel Magaña
María Isabel Magaña (1991, Colombia) is a journalist fueled by the urge to embark on adventures and give voice to those stories who have been silenced. Her professional work was transformed when she discovered the power of data in journalism. Ever since, she has worked both in national and international news outlets as a data-driven investigative journalist as well as promoted the right to know in Colombia through QueremosDatos.co. She teaches journalism at La Sabana University and coordinates data projects at Datasketch.

David van Reybrouck
Writer David Van Reybrouck (Bruges, 1971) is one of the leading authors of his generation. He studied archaeology and philosophy at the universities of Leuven and Cambridge and obtained his PhD in Leiden.
He worked for six years independently on the book “Congo: the Epic history of a People”. This book became a bestseller. Congo has been translated several times and is now available in Norwegian, German, French, Swedish, Danish and Finnish. Translations into Polish, English and Chinese are expected.
David Van Reybrouck writes poems and is the founder of the Brussels Poets’ Collective. Since 2011 he has been chairman of the authors’ association PEN Vlaanderen. In the same year he joined the G1000 project, the platform for democratic innovation that aims for more citizen participation in democratic decision-making.
