Simone Catharina Gaul is an editor on DIE ZEIT’s podcast team. She loves to tell
complex and emotional stories that help to understand our world a litte bit better. She is
also a documentary filmmaker, her films were shown and awarded at numerous
international filmfestivals.

Pia Rauschenberger

Pia Rauschenberger was selected for the 2026 Shortlist with One day in Gaza.

Pia Rauschenberger studied psychology in Leipzig and Berlin, then completed an
internship at Deutschlandfunk. As a freelance journalist, she has worked for radio
stations Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and WDR 5. Since June 2020, she is
a podcast editor at DIE ZEIT.
