Lydia McMullan is an award-winning visual journalist and editor, currently serving as the Guardian’s Head of Visual and Data journalism. She leads multidisciplinary teams producing data-driven and spatial investigations, visual reporting, and interactive journalism across the Guardian’s news coverage. Her leadership plays a key role in shaping how visual and data journalism integrate with traditional newsroom beats, combining new technical specialisms and with classical reporting techniques. She leads her department in producing audience-focused innovative public interest journalism, reactive visual news and analysis.
