The Guardian Foundation
An independent charity with a focus on journalism education in the UK and internationally, promoting human rights and the right to information. The Guardian Foundation is a registered charity (number 1027893) and the umbrella organisation for all the charitable activities taking place under the direction of the Scott Trust. Its interests reflect the Scott Trust’s key objectives of “promoting the causes of freedom of the press and liberal journalism both in Britain and elsewhere”. The Foundation’s three pillars are Education, Human Rights and the Right to Information.
The Politiken Foundation
Politiken is a leading Danish newspaper. Internationally, Politiken has received recognition for its design through the form of several awards. It is independent of political parties, organizations, economic interests, groupings and individuals’ influence. This independence is a prerequisite for the editorial credibility of Politiken.
Agora Foundation was established in October 2004. Since 2005 it has had the status of a public benefit organization (PMO). In recent years, Agora Foundation has focused on co-organizing and financing social campaigns initiated by “Gazeta Wyborcza”. These shares are financed from the annual collection of 1% of the tax deduction, for which a special sub-account was created in the Foundation.

The Irish Times Trust Limited was set up as ‘a company limited by guarantee’ to purchase The Irish Times Limited and to ensure that The Irish Times would be published as an independent newspaper with specific editorial objectives. The Trust is a key component in the governance structure of The Irish Times because it guarantees the independence and quality of the newspaper.

Stichting Democratie & Media
The statutory objectives of the Democracy and Media Foundation are to counter all forms of totalitarianism in social and political life and to strive for a vigorous democracy and multifaceted, opinionating media. The foundation’s current mission is to invest in strong, critical media and a strong, just democratic state based on the rule of law. The Democracy and Media Foundation provides financial support to organizations, projects and other initiatives that promote this mission.
Foundation Veronica, through its partnerships with initiatives like the ANP and The Post Online and through social projects such as The European Press Prize and the 4th Floor, carries out an independent basis and, where possible and usefully, seeks cooperation with other parties publicly and privately.
The Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau (ANP) was founded 11 December 1934 by the Dutch national newspapers. They saw the necessity of a joint press agency to supply newspapers, radio and television with news. ANP has built a worldwide network and collaborates with various international leading press agencies, software and content partners.
