Prune Antoine

Prune Antoine (1981) is an independent reporter and a novelist, focusing on violence, gender, justice, and power. Born in France, bred in Europe, she is currently based between Paris and Berlin.A finalist of the European Presse Prize and the Goncourt of the First novel, her work lies at the crossroads of literature and reportage.

Her award-winning investigations have taken her to post-Maidan Ukraine, Arab Spring Tunisia, the Russian opposition, authoritarian Belarus, and inside the neo-nazi group Der Dritte Weg. Her writing appeared in Le Nouvel ObservateurReportagen, Le MondeMediapartDie ZeitThe GuardianVice or ARTE.

Her third book, “La mère diabolique” (Denoël, Paris, 2024) about the Christiane K. criminal case, tackles the ambivalences of motherhood and the gender biases in criminal justice. The text, translated into German, has been optioned for screen adaptation.

She is also the co-founder and editor-in-chief of “Sisters of Europe”, a collective feminist platform shortlisted for the European Press Prize in 2021, demonstrating her commitment to cross-border, innovative journalism.
